Mesh Retaining Durabar


Rock engineers from several mines approached us wanting a yielding support system, which when grouted into the hole could also hold the weight of the mesh on primary insertion into the rock. They also needed the mesh to maintain its position as close to the rock face as possible. Several products where tested none of them fulfilling all the criteria. None of the products could provide immediate support and still yield in a controlled fashion. The second issue was that the mesh was heavy causing the tendon to move out of the hole creating significant gaps between itself and the rock face. This also allowed the grout to escape.
